It was great to connect with Africa’s top business and technology journalist, Tage Kene-Okafor from TechCrunch, who stole the big stage at GITEX GLOBAL in Dubai this year! Where representation matters for African Tech on the global scene, it’s important to credit how intelligently he focuses on African tech ecosystem news and deep dives in valuable ways that spur growth, and increased attention in this direction.

GITEX Global spurred in-depth conversations, new perspectives, and provided a stage for ambitious startups to share thought leading experiences on technology, huge milestones, and what the future holds. Besides the well curated programming, it was encouraging to see how more of Senegal is being represented on the global stage. This spoke to progress for Francophone Africa as one of the fastest growing tech hubs on the continent.

One could tell the overwhelming interest in Tech startups in Africa - the fact that GITEX is coming to Africa next year only reiterates how much potential exists on the continent, and how Web3, the blockchain and its applications are accelerating growth across financial technology, digital economies, borderless trade, real estate where Koolute stands, agriculture, and other growth sectors. This stands as a marker that Innovation does breathe in the MENA.

We also got to meet several truly inspiring tech figures including Melanie Keita Mariam, a Web3 leader and fierce entrepreneur leading the charge for daring African women building tech startups.

Our goal is to always be smackdab in the middle of Africa-focused tech and blockchain-centered conversations because we truly believe in the blockchain’s power to create a financially resilient Africa. As such, we never pass up a chance to be at engagements such as GITEX Global. We had a great time and can’t wait to contribute to future conversations sponsored by the platform.
